Inter-Institute Allies Working Group

This is a regular meetup for allies who are associated with research institutes at CU Boulder and who are interested in racial equity. This is a space for people to learn how to be a better ally and to have conversations in a supportive environment. Some meetings are organized around a skill and others are more open format. There is also an Inter-Institute Employee BIPOC affinity group which will meet to develop connections and solidarity starting Fall 2021.

CIRES D&I Community of Practice: Establishing positive group behavior

Like education and politics, workplace culture is local. CIRES doesn't have one monolithic culture; we have an assemblage of cultures that vary by sub-unit, lab and work team. What matters to people is how they are treated by the people they see day in and day out. Day to day behavior is an important aspect of an inclusive culture. Where there are issues, they impact marginalized and minoritized groups more often and to a greater extent.
